Hello Coaches and Managers,
Hope everyone is having a great summer. The League scheduling meeting for the FALL season are Sunday, August 2, 2009. Your attendance is highly recommended but not mandatory. However, if you do not attend, your team schedule will be developed by the teams in your age group that do attend and you will not be allowed to make any schedule changes during the season. The meeting will be fun, frustrating, eye opening and the result should be what everyone has wanted in the past, a perfect schedule.
Your age group information will be located on the front page of the league website July 23, 2009 at http://scysa.demosphere.com/index.html. It includes pairings and bye dates. Scheduling guidelines and master field list will be posted by Tuesday July 29. Please spend some time getting familiar with the information and the scheduling process should not take very long. Feel free to contact coaches and managers in advance to help with your schedule. PLEASE PRINT AND BRING THIS INFORMATION WITH YOU TO THE MEETING. THERE WILL BE NO COPIES AVAILABLE AT THE MEETING. We have allotted 1-1/2 hours for each age group. We will start with a brief meeting and the ground rules for the scheduling process. This should take about 10 minutes. You will then break out in to your teams’ age group/division and create your schedule.
The intent is when you leave you will have your schedule for the Fall season. There may have to be some time adjustments for continuity, but dates and district where you are playing should not change. The schedule will then be posted by August 12.
Make sure you have coordinated with your team on SAT, ACT, PSAT, Homecoming and other events your players may be participating in for the fall. This will be a final schedule and there will be no rescheduling. Exception to this would be inclement weather.
Should be an interesting process with a chance to coordinate and get to know your fellow coaches. The process went extremely well as a group this past Spring. I hope, for your team’s sake, to see everyone Sunday.
